LSBA Junior Tournament – 21st April

The LSBA Junior American doubles tournament will be held at Babington Academy, Leicester on Sunday 21st April 2024.

The Boys and Girls level doubles events are being held for players in the following categories:

  • Up to school year 6 at 9am-12pm.
  • School years 7 to 9 at 12pm-3pm.
  • School years 10 to 12 at 3pm-6pm.

Entries are appreciated as soon as possible for organisational reasons, but must reach the organiser by Thursday 18th April 2024. One entry form per pair should be sent directly to Graham Forryan and not to the coaches at the club.

Fees of £5.00 per person per event can be made by cash on the day or a cheque accompanying the completed entry form with cheques made payable to Leicestershire Schools Badminton Association.

The tournament is only open to players that do not participate at county or performance centre level.

Sessions on Weds 3rd Jan

A reminder that junior badminton sessions will be running on Wednesday 3rd January at the usual times (4pm, 5pm & 6pm).

These sessions have been moved due to blood donations taking place in the sports hall on Wednesday 10th January. There will be no sessions on this date.

Junior Doubles Tournament – Sun 28th Jan

The Derek Meakin Memorial Junior Doubles Tournament will be held on Sunday 28th January 2024 at Babington Academy, Leicester.

Summer Pay As You Play

The club will be holding Pay as you Play Junior Badminton Sessions on Wednesdays 2nd, 9th & 23rd August 2023.

  • Session 4:00pm to 5:00pm (school years 3 to 11) @ £4.00 per session per week.
  • Session 5:00pm to 6:00pm (school years 8 to 13) @ £4.00 per session per week.
  • Both sessions for only £6.00 per week.

These sessions will just be fun & games and are open to anyone in school years 3-13. This means current members can come along with their brothers/sisters/friends. There is no need to book in advance, so just turn up for the desired session.

AGM – Tues 4th July

The club committee again invites you to the ninth AGM of Harborough LC Junior Badminton Club to be held on Tuesday 4th July 2023 commencing at 7:30pm.

The meeting will be at The Three Swans (21, High Street, Market Harborough, Leicestershire, LE16 7NJ) and we should be in the small ground floor area to the rear of premises adjacent to the car park.

The meeting will be hosted by the current club chairperson (Steve Chapman). All committee member positions are up for election/re-election with a current vacancy for “Parent Representative”, “Welfare Officer” and “First Aid Officer”.

It would be appreciated if you would please advise the club secretary Lynda Haynes (lindahaynes@harboroughlcjuniors.org.uk) if you are able to attend this meeting and also whether you are interested in volunteering or in any committee member positions.
